~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Happy 4th of July to my Fellow Americans! And Happy Wednesday to my fellow fiberists! I cast on a project this week. Okay truth be admitted...I cast on 2 but the one pictured is the one I am really excited about. I just fell in love it as as soon as I saw it and bought it as soon as the pattern was released. I cast on as soon as I had the pattern in my hands. What is it, you might ask? What is so gorgeous that I had to cast on as soon as humanly possible? Well is it a shawl! A lovely shawl that I don't think I will keep for myself. I would love to gift it to someone and have them to be able to draw some comfort from it. It is such a fun little knit. Isn't that pattern delightful--all that lovely garter stitch. My reading is much the same. I only have a few pages left- maybe completed this evening. I am such a slow reader this summer. But each page is a wonderful summer read. Do you see the chair my knitting is on? My husband built it from a pallet! The bag is from Julip Bags. It is called the Everything but the Knitting bag. And it really came with everything BUT the wool and needles- a cute little notions tin filled to the brim with scissors, measuring tape, and stitch markers were all included. Even a crochet hook was inside-- kept cleverly secured inside the bag with a sewn in holder!
I hope you enjoy your Wednesday and Happy Reading!

My favorite spot to watch my children play and to knit a few rows or read a few pages from. |
I hope you enjoy your Wednesday and Happy Reading!
The pattern on your shawl looks lovely - as does that seat on your front porch and the sunshine!!! We are wet, wet ,wet here in England - with no sign of it lifting anytime soon!
ReplyDeleteI was first struck by the cushion on your chair. So pretty! And the chair is very impressive. A great spot for watching everything. Love all the new Quince patterns. I was similarly struck by another one. I am trying to keep focused though, but it ill be made soon. Love that color. So warm.
ReplyDeleteHeather--I found the cushion at walmart! Quince patterns are so really wonderful-this is the second one I have bought but the first one I have had a chance to knit up.

ReplyDeleteYour shawl looks lovely...I love the straw colour yarn and Quince patterns...I have a few pdf's ready for me to find the correct yarn.
Your husband is really clever to recycle the pallet into such a useful item.
Have a wonderful holiday.

I love the colour of the yarn you're using, and the chair is fantastic! Well done to your husband :)
ReplyDeleteThat shawl will be lovely! You should keep it for yourself! I always make pretty things and give them away, but I really need to start keeping some of them! The chair is awesome. I had to call my husband in to see it, hopefully he can make one as well :-)
